February update.

February 18th, 2012

The new Koi facility is coming together. The main pond is now filled and running, the Nexus 310 on 1 drain and a Cetus Sieve on the other, should be a great combination to get as much waste out as possible.

Will now run the system for a few weeks before gettting some fish in, its pretty cold at the moment so no major rush, will get everything else done this week. As always, if you want to come and have a look, feel free to call up.

New shop coming along.

January 23rd, 2012

Another quick update on on the progress of the new shop.

The main pond was fiberglassed today and the floor started to go down, everything is coming together all at once. The joiners start at the weekend and the shelving is ready to go up. The front of the pond needs painting before the pipework can be finished as the EA110UV will be attached to the front wall, so as soon as the floor is laid that will be done. Hoping to get the coping stones on in the next few days and the water in by Wednesday! Running at the weekend all going to plan.

The fiber glasser I use has a very strict regime. When the matt is applied on top of the first coat of resin, he waits for it to dry then sands it all down again. He then adds another coat of resin but this time adds a colour to the mix. Then he waits for it to dry and then rubs down again. The colour is added to the resin so when the gel coat with black pigment is applied you can 100% check there wont be any missed spots because you can see colour if you have missed any. It makes for a perfect job.

If anyone would like the fiber glasser’s number, please get in touch.

January Update

January 18th, 2012

Just wanted to give a quick edit on the progress of the new shop in Warrington.

The main pond is now built and rendered, the fibre glasser will be here over this weekend, so the pond should be up and running in the next week. This pond will be split into 3 sections, but we can remove the dividers to make 1, 2 or 3 ponds for different Koi sizes. There are 2 bottom drains and 1 will be ran on a Nexus 310 and the other drain directly to a Cetus sieve. The shop will be opening in Mid March so not too far away now.

I got a email from Shintaro Koi Farm this morning with some great pictures of Niigata, in the Winter. When they get snow…they REALLY get snow! Enjoy :)

Koi to South Africa

January 11th, 2012

Today we shipped out 6 boxes to our clients in Johannesburg and Durban. 19 Koi in total, mainly Nisai but a couple of very special larger Koi. They were all Koi from the November harvests in Japan and have been fully Quarantined in the UK, making sure they were virus and parasite free. Its a 30 hour journey door to door, so fingers crossed they arrive safe and sound.

Pond project, complete.

January 4th, 2012

We were involved in building a fabulous Koi pond in 2011 and it was split into 4 parts in Koi Carp Magazine. We have already featured this pond in the customers pond section of the website but here is a copy of the final article which shows you the pond all finished and landscaped, looks fantastic.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

December 23rd, 2011

We would like to wish all our customers, old and new a very happy Christmas. 2011 has been a fantastic year for timwaddy.com, we have been flat out for most of 2011.

We built one of the nicest ponds I have ever been involved with, a 32000 gallon state of the art system which was featured in a 4 part series in Koi Carp magazine, it really was a fantastic job for all who were involved in the project. For more information please see here and check out the filter house roof.

We supplied Koi to the biggest Koi Show in South Africa (The South African National) which has some of the best Koi in the world on Show, One of our clients won the grand Champion award with a magnificent Matsunosuke Kohaku. We also supplied Champions to America too. A superb achievement. Read the article on the Matsunosuke Kohaku here and here.

We have also serviced ponds and treated/scraped Koi from Edinburgh to Devon and as far away as France and Malta, it really has been amazing.

November saw us in Japan again, looking at some of the worlds best Koi and selling some amazing Koi while we were there. See more here and look at the full trip on our site.

2012 will now bring a brand new base for Timwaddy.com. The new facility is being built right now and should be finished by March 2012 where we will supply fantastic Koi and all the dry goods any Koi Keepers needs at the best prices. For more information see here.

Sayonara

November 14th, 2011

Well another Japan trip done and dusted, no matter how many times I come here it is always an amazing experience, this trip counts as one of the best trips I have ever had, even though it was for a short period of time. Usually when you have a list from clients of fish they are looking for they are very hard to find, this time they were easy, it was great! We sold some gorgeous fish this trip, extremely high quality, even with the pound the way it is we still managed to find the best value fish, not just small Koi either, we have sold 5 world class Koi all over 70cms, pretty rare in our current climate.

The breeders havent changed, they are still working hard to produce the fish, and even harder to sell them. There was plenty of excess stock this year which they didnt have last year, its hard shipping Koi with the pound so some of the larger Nisai are still available because the box rate is too high, a box is better with 6 fish in rather than 4!

We didnt buy many Koi for the shop this trip, mainly orders. We are starting the expansion when we return this week so having stock is no good for us right now with the building work which will be going on for the new facility in Warrington. www.qualitynishikigoi.com

However dont let this stop you from coming to say hello…and moving a few block!!

I want to give a HUGE thank you to all our clients who have bought Koi this year, I thank you so much for the continued support and we hope the Koi picked will suit, I am sure they will! Thanks again :)

I also want to give a massive thanks to all the people on facebook, now almost 1500 of you guys, its appreciated.

Until the next trip…

Tim

Japan 13/11

November 13th, 2011

The weather was terrible today again, didnt stop raining all morning.

However the Koi were still there so we had things to do. Firstly was to confirm a sale for a stunning 70cm Shintaro Sanke, a fabulous Koi, the body alone is staggering, then the beni and the snow white, a superb Koi. I managed to take 1 semi decent pic, I am getting better…I hope! We then had a great lunch with Shintaro, the best place to eat in Mushigame!

We then had a bit of a drive around some places I hadnt been to in a while, the original Hoshikin House in Shiodani where there are still many beautiful Koi, we dropped back down the other side to kawaguchi and had a check at Kodama, some superb Koi there too.

All in all, a great day!

Quick update

Thanks all

Japan 12/11

November 12th, 2011

Another day, another day around the mountains, its been an excellent trip so far, really has.

Needed to finalise a few Koi at Yagenji first stop then a look in at Igarashi Kazuto and had a coffee and chat, he has some amazing Koi as usual. With the Show on there were quite a few Japanese clients around which is always fun to see what they are picking etc, was good.

Then we went to Shintaro to look at a few more, I really could stay there all day bowling the fish, this year his Koi are right up there with the best, the larger fish which have been growing for a few years are incredible now, really cherishing. They are great to show people that they are tategoi, and this is how smaller Koi can quite easily turn out. Check out the Tancho’s too, very special.

Then we went to the ZNA Show for a quick look round after judging, the GC as seen on the post below was a worthy winner, such a nice Koi, and big!!
